Silent and soft spoken at first glance, to say that the protagonist is 'reserved' would be an understatement. He keeps to himself for the most part, though it's born more out of a shy nature rather than a dislike for the people around him. He just finds it difficult to connect with others, a problem that only becomes more pronounced since fusing with Aogami to become the Nahobino. Demons are easier to converse with, with simple desires and simple solutions -- even if those solutions are 'kill'. But for all their complications, the protagonist does value and believe in humanity -- so much so that he wants to completely free them from the shackles of gods and demons for good. He can see the pain and suffering demons cause by their very nature, and the greed of the gods from their own nature to want power, and decides that he wants none of it even if it makes him an enemy of every ally he's managed to gather (except for, of course, Aogami). His compassion is deep, and everyone is worthy of it, he just has to trust in his own instincts that what he's doing is right. And to that end, his reserved nature allows him to play his cards close to his chest, allowing him to get away with taking his fate into his own hands.
headcanons;KNOWLEDGE
As the Knowledge holder of Susano-o, the protagonist's primary affinity is for Almighty and Electric spells. Furthermore, he has a preternatural ability to predict storms and rain. Like other demons can with their Knowledge, the reverse is true -- the protagonist has an awareness of where Aogami is, though far less specific. More "in that direction" than "in that building, in that room". Furthermore, being away from Aogami when they are separated creates a sense of 'loss' in the protagonist until Aogami is within sight once more.
NAME
Until Atlus decides to begin spinning the wheel of 'which name is it this time', the two names I prefer to use are Amemura Kei or Amagami Rin. Amemura Kei written as 天叢 ケイ and Amagami Rin as 天神 リン. Human characters in SMT have their given names written in katakana, and the protagonist would be no different.
